Executive Education at its best

We believe the key to effective tailored executive development lies in understanding the strategic context, challenges and realities of the client organisation.

When we begin working with an organisation, we spend considerable time in discussion with our clients. This development stage can be as comprehensive as required, depending on the end goals. Often, we’ll interview members of the senior executive and board, as well as future participants and their managers for the programme. We’ll absorb ourselves in the organisation’s culture, strategic challenges and realities.

This preliminary work is designed to enable our design team to reach a credible understanding of the situation and to target key business and learning priorities, thus ensuring that all parties have a shared vision for the way forward.

We devise processes for learning and organisational development on the basis of:

  • your needs and requirements
  • the style and preferences of your people
  • your industry and business context.

Exploratory questions

Some of the questions we discuss with clients before designing a tailored programme and embarking on in-company interviews are:

  • What are the strategic objectives for the business?
  • What are your organisational objectives?
  • What is the balance between individual and organisational development objectives for the programme/intervention?
  • What are the key learning needs for individuals? Are these based around a competency model?
  • How does the programme fit with other initiatives within the organisation?
  • What will constitute real success for the programme? How can this be incorporated into any ROI plans/needs?

Indeed, at your initial inquiry/tender stage with us these are also some of the questions we are likely to ask, to help us better respond to your needs and give you an indication of the type of approach and programme design we believe will deliver the results you seek.

During the development stage, the true parameters and goals of the programme are usually reviewed and finalised. We design the programme or intervention against these.
